The Senior Golf League plays every Wednesday morning in the golf season. Men and women, 50 years or older, are invited to play in this league. The pre-season games begin in April, with play-of-the-day formats determined by a majority vote of the golfers that show up. The regular season begins in May and finishes in late October, with the weather and course conditions permitting. Score-keeping for handicap tracking begins in May.
The Senior Golf League is informal, with no committees and no officers, just a sociable group who enjoy a little competition on the golf course. We have players with handicaps ranging from 9 to 35, and we welcome all players. We keep track of handicaps, and make up teams that are fair and competitive.
We play various formats of golf: individual gross/net, scrambles, best ball, Play-with-the-Pros, and other fun formats. We use either the sand (6,057 yards) or green (5,549 yards) tees, depending on gender, age and handicap levels.
Out of our current pool of about 25 golfers, those who show up contributeto the day’s regular-play prize money pool. Each player antes $5 to this pool. On days when we play the individual format, there is an additional, optional $5 per player skins prize money pool. All of the day’s prize money pools are paid to regular-play winners, or optional skins winners, as applicable.
Seniors who are interested can contact Ed Kujalowicz, Head Pro at the Springs Ranch Golf Club, or just show up any Wednesday between April and October. There is no annual fee to join. The early season tee times start at 9 am, with mid-season (summer) starting at 8 am. Come out and join in the fun and sociable golf. We welcome all newcomers.
