Senior Men's Golf League

The Senior Men’s Golf League, or as it’s fondly referred to, 'Geezer's Golf ', plays every Wednesday morning in the golf season (view the schedule below).  The season usually starts in mid-April and finishes in mid-November, with the weather and course conditions permitting.

The Senior Men’s Golf League is informal, with no committees and no officers, just a sociable group who enjoy a little competition on the golf course.  We have players with handicaps ranging from 7 to 34, and we welcome all players.  Ages run from the 60’s to the 80’s, but so far no age discrimination.   We keep track of handicaps, and make up teams that are fair and competitive.  (See Geezer's handicap chart below.) 

The players who show up, out of our current pool of about 35, ante $5 into the prize money pot.  The entire pot is awarded to the day's top finishers.  We play various formats of golf: individual gross/net, scrambles, two and four man best ball, and other fun formats.

Seniors who are interested can contact Ed Kujalowicz, Head Pro at the Springs Ranch Golf Club, or just show up any Wednesday between April and November.  There is no annual fee to join.  The early season tee times start at 9 am, with mid-season (summer) starting at 8 am.  Come out and join in the fun and sociable golf.  We welcome all newcomers.

 Notes:

• Moving to Tuesday June 15 and the Thursday August 26 are due to Wednesday conflicts at the golf course.
• Players with a handicap higher than 18 can take only one stroke on Par 3’s on Team Play full handicap on individual play
• At the end of winter rules, play all shots down – rules of golf apply.
• When playing individual games or games that are counting total individual scores, putt all putts out.
• Scores/winners will be posted on the Internet – Springs Ranch website and running account will be kept.
• In 2010, if there are enough players, Springs Ranch Men's Association will have a Senior Club Championship – 36 holes for players 50 to 60 years and 61 years and older (2 flights), gross & net; to be played on Thursday/Friday August 26 & 27.
• Players who are 70 or older and have a handicap higher than 22 have the option to tee off from the green tee box for Geezers tournaments.
• NEW THIS YEAR - Players 76 & older have the option to tee off from the green tees no matter what their handicap.
• Handicaps will be revised monthly and adjusted per scores.

 This year we also will have play on Fridays.  We will have individual gross and net or sometimes just individual net - $5.00 per player pool.  Also, we will have a skins game available each Friday that is optional -  $5.00/player – starting April 9.
